June to October the dry season

The best time to travel to Tanzania is from June to October. This is the most popular period for a safari. The vegetation is less dense and animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. During these months, all national parks are easy to visit. June to October are the best months for wildlife spotting because it is drier. Temperatures are pleasant and there is little rain. This period is also known for the spectacular river crossings of the Great Migration in the Serengeti. However, prices are quite high then, and it can be crowded due to international holidays.

The dry season offers you excellent wildlife sightings, pleasant weather, and is ideal for photography.

October through March the Green season

During this period, Tanzania is beautifully green and there are fewer tourists. Many young animals are also born. This period is considered the shoulder season, but you can actually count these months among the best times to travel to Tanzania. For the Serengeti, January and February are even the best months. The chance of rain is slightly higher than in the high season, but as a result, nature is in beautiful bloom. Prices for tours and accommodation are somewhat lower, and the safaris are excellent. This time of year is the migration and calving season in the Serengeti.

The green season offers you: quieter parks, lower prices, beautiful landscapes

March through May Rainy season

If you don't mind getting wet regularly, these are also very beautiful months to travel to Tanzania. March through May are the months with the most rain. The landscape is bright green and many lodges offer lower prices during this period.

The rainy season offers you the quietest safari season, as there are fewer visitors in the parks, lower prices, lush green nature and blooming flora, and active wildlife.
