A safari during the wildebeest migration calving season is an excellent opportunity to witness the spectacular sight of wildebeest, their adora wobbly-legged newborns, and many big cats on the hunt.
Calving season typically runs from late January to early March. This period is a time of renewal and survival. Within two to three weeks, more than half a million wildebeest are born

The highlight of this adventurous safari is the off-the-beaten-track drive to Lake Natron along the Rift Valley Escarpment Wall. The soda lake Lake Natron lies beneath the active volcano 'Ol Doinyo Lengai.' Translated from Maasai, this means 'Mountain of God.' The lake, with its hyper-alkaline waters, is one of East Africa's most important breeding grounds for more than 2.5 million lesser flamingos.

For this trip, we have small-scale luxury accommodations. A low-season special to Tanzania. These prices are valid from March 12 to June 5, 2025. Perfect for a family trip to Africa during the school holidays! Because it's so early in the year, it's called the "green season" because the game parks are greener than green during these months! More over, millions of ungulates are found in the central Seronera Valley of the Serengeti. This is also the time when babies are born everywhere.
The wildlife is so abundant that traveling during this magnificent time is rewarding.
This trip has short daily distances. You'll also stay overnight at prime locations within the parks. This way, you won't lose any valuable time and will have maximum time for the safaris!
